Softness in the Landscape
I began walking the landscapes of England in early 2019 in search of solace, and haven’t stopped since. The practice became as much a meditation in waiting as it was in walking, allowing time to slow down and to notice the subtle details of each place.
I explored areas close enough to return in a day, yet far enough to feel the discovery of new landscapes. Over time, I began researching ancient trackways, sacred sites, and landmarks, tracing the subtle marks of history, ritual, and memory across the landscape.
Softness in the Landscape is an ongoing reflection on how light, atmosphere, and quiet presence shape the places we inhabit and how walking and observing can attune us to the gentle rhythms and cycles of the natural landscape.
